The brief.
A true community effort developed, funded, and built in partnership between Pasco County's Destination Management Organization (Experience Florida's Sports Coast) and RADDSports. The land was generously donated by the Porter family of Wesley Chapel — the name pays homage to the property's heritage. Tourist development tax funds anchored the build; RADDSports won the competitive RFP for development, financing, construction management, operations, and maintenance in June 2016.

What RADDSports owned
RADD shoulders the operating risk for the entire 120-acre campus — every operating and maintenance dollar. Pasco County receives a revenue share from facility rentals, local programming, fitness offerings, and sponsorships. RADD funded $1.3M of architectural and engineering fees to deliver finalized construction documents, then handed off to the County-selected construction manager. The campus broke ground in June 2018; sitework began that fall.
Year one, in a pandemic
RADD hired the directors for each sport in June 2020. The first public event was held in August 2020. Despite COVID uncertainty, 2021 saw 59 events of all sizes across the arena — basketball, cheer, volleyball, soccer programs serving the local community plus major weekend tournaments. AdventHealth became the naming sponsor in October 2020, anchoring the AdventHealth Sports Arena at Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus.
Recognition that follows results
Wiregrass was named Small Market Venue of the Year in the 2020 Florida Sports Industry Partner Awards — a state recognition of the venue's contribution to Florida's $57.4 billion sports industry. By 2022, the campus ranked #55 in attendance among all Florida attractions with over 158,000 out-of-county visits.
